Ingredients:
3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
¼ cup pure maple syrup
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 large egg yolk
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
½ cup + 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
¼ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon cinnamon
⅛ teaspoon nutmeg
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ cup chocolate chips
¼ cup toasted pecans, roughly chopped
Ice Cream for topping (optional but highly recommended)
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350°F with a 6-inch cast-iron pan inside.
In a bowl, whisk together melted butter, maple syrup, and brown sugar until smooth.
Whisk in the egg yolk and vanilla extract.
Add flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt, mixing until combined.
Fold in chocolate chips and toasted pecans.
Spread the dough evenly in the skillet and bake for 16–18 minutes until golden around the edges but still soft in the center.
Let cool slightly before topping with maple whipped cream or vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of maple syrup.
